It actually hasn't counted since 1960.
IN 1972, George McGovern didn't get a single vote...he may have gotten a single vote, but he wasn't on the ballot in West Virginia and won the nomination anyway. Four years later Robert Byrd ran for President, all the other candidates except George Wallace decided not to enter the primary out of deference to him. Thus Jimmy Carter got ZERO votes in the primary and was elected president anyway. Since then, the nominee has won the primary, unopposed.
"None of the above" came in second in 1996, 2000 and 2004. That was because the front runner was so far ahead everyone else had dropped out.
West Virginia hasn't had a meaningful primary since 1960, and there's evidence that Joe Kennedy spend lots of money on ballot stuffing.
The Democratic voters of West Virginia are going to shoot themselves in the perverbial foot today.
